Guendalina Urbani (1992) vive e lavora a Roma. Dal 2018 è uno dei membri di Spazio In Situ e dal 2021 è rappresentata dalla Galleria Umberto Benappi di Torino.
La sua ricerca si concentra sul rapporto tra percezione, intesa come processo volto a ricevere e decodificare informazioni che possano confermare l’esistenza di un mondo esterno, ed il sogno, pregno di residui di percezione dello stato di veglia, al fine di generare immagini reali ma nel contempo irreali. Lavora principalmente con l’installazione e la scultura creando oggetti immaginari, contraddittori e ambigui. Nei suoi lavori combina materiali di varia natura basandosi sull’improbabilità dei loro accostamenti, cercando di creare opere che stimolino gli spettatori a valutare diverse interpretazioni della realtà stessa.
Ha esposto in gallerie, spazi indipendenti e istituzionali tra cui: Italy Sotheby’s International Realty, Milano – On Times (Paradise) Lost (2024); Chiesa di San Rocco, Mombarcaro – Buona Fortuna Ribelli (2023); NP_ArtLab, Padova – Unconventional still life (2022); Galleria Umberto Benappi, Torino – LeviaGravia (2021) e Rewind (2022); Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Roma – Materia Nova (2021); Spazio In Situ, Roma- Quando cade la magia, rimane la disinvoltura (2020); Una Vetrina, Roma – Capogiro (2019); Galleria dell’accademia di belle arti di Macerata – Il Bulino o l’avventura di un editore (2018); Castello di Rivara Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rivara (TO) – Ed è subito sera (2015). Nel 2022 in occasione di Roma Arte in Nuvola vince il Premio Young della Regione Lazio come migliore artista under 35. È stata finalista Exibart Prize (2020); Semifinalista Jaguart (2016); Finalista Premio Celeste (2016) nella sezione “super young”.

Guendalina Urbani (1992) lives and works in Rome. Since 2018 she is one of the members of Spazio In Situ and since 2021 she is represented by Umberto Benappi Gallery in Turin.
Her research focuses on the relationship between perception, as a process aimed at receiving and decoding information that can confirm the existence of an external world, and the dream, full of residues of perception from the waking state, to generate real, but at the same time unreal, images. She mainly works with installation and sculpture creating imaginary, contradictory, and ambiguous objects. In her works she combines various materials based on the improbability of their combinations, trying to create works that stimulate viewers to evaluate different interpretations of reality.
She has exhibited in galleries, independent and institutional spaces including: Italy Sotheby’s International Realty, Milan – On Times (Paradise) Lost (2024); Church of San Rocco, Mombarcaro – Good Luck Rebels (2023); NP_ArtLab, Padua – Unconventional still life (2022); Umberto Benappi Gallery, Turin – LeviaGravia (2021) and Rewind (2022); Gallery of Modern Art of Rome – Materia Nova (2021); Spazio In Situ, Rome – When the magic falls, the ease remains (2020); Una Vetrina, Rome – Dizziness (2019); Gallery of the Fine Arts Academy of Macerata – Il Bulino or the adventure of a publisher (2018); Castello di Rivara Museum of Contemporary Art, Rivara (TO) – And it’s immediately evening (2015). In 2022, on the occasion of Rome Arte in Nuvola, she won the Young Prize of the Lazio Region as best artist under 35. She was an Exibart Prize finalist (2020); Jaguart semi-finalist (2016); Celeste Award finalist (2016) in the “super young” section.
